“Five composite schools to be opened in Jharkhand – Ranchi, Palamau, Dumka, Chaibasa and Hazaribagh to provide education to students from class 1 up till post graduation in one campus” said Smriti Irani, Union minister of India while addressing the ‘Vidyalay Chale-Cyalayein Abhiyan’ at Kalamati district.
The government will run the schools just like private schools and will also provide various facilities bus service being one of them. Smriti Irani also unveiled that no fee would be charged from poor tribals and Scheduled Caste students whose families’ income is less than Rs. 1 lakh per annum. Fee will also be not charged from the SC, ST and OBC students of IIT Dhanbad. She also advocated for inclusion of students’ parents in school management system to ensure efficient working of the administration.
Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that panchayats could also be involved and engaged in school management to ensure smooth function and monitoring of schools. He requested the Union Minister to provide furniture in 30,000 schools of the state and asked people’s representatives to develop one model school in their respective constituencies. Such steps for revolutionizing the education system is the need of the hour and this initiative will hopefully prove to be a concrete step in evolution of our education system.
