New Research Method Proves to Kill Cancer Cells in Two Hours

Finally a good news for the patients who are suffering from a monstrous disease called cancer. Matthew Gdovin, Associate Professor at University of Texas has conducted a research wherein he has developed a method through which cancer cells can be killed in two hours. This method involves injecting a chemical called nitrobenzaldehyde into the tumor that allows the chemical to diffuse into the tissue.

This chemical causes the cancer cells become very acidic due to which the cells commit suicide and within two hours up to 95% of the targeted cells are either dead or are estimated to be dead. This chemical is a ray of hope for those patients who suffer from inopertable or in some cases hard to reach tumors.

The best thing about this chemical is that unlike chemotherapy it just kills the cancer targeted cells. Mr Gdovin has began  to work upon developing nanoparticle that would be injected into the body to target cancer cells.

In his experiment he was successful in not only stopping the tumor from growing but also the chances of survival doubled.

Mr Gdovin has tested this method on triple negative breast cancer as he feels that it is one of the most aggressive type of cancer with poor prognosis.

Unlike chemotherapy, which is painful and time consuming; injecting this nanoparticle would be easier. It would be activated with a wavelength of light and would have the ability to pass through the skin, flesh as well bone without harming the body in any way and would work miraculously on killing the cancer cells.  Mr Gdovin hopes that his research would prove a boon for the patients who are undergoing  radiation treatment or painful chemotherapy and the surgeons who have to operate on the tumors in critical body parts.

All said and done, with this drug ,the pain and suffering of the patients as well as family members would reduce to a nano particle. Hope to see this medicine soon.
