Kashmir Wants to Study : 95 Percent Students Turn Up For Board Exams

Board examinations have started in Kashmir for class 10th and 12th and the students don’t want to take any chances with their studies. Thousands of them appeared on day 1 of their exams at more than 400 centres across the valley. None of them wanted to bear the loss of a complete academic year. There was 50 percent relaxation in syllabus which came as a big relief to the students.

Parents were extremely scared but accompanied their wards to the examination centres. Almost every student was accompanied by a family member. Adequate security measures were undertaken so that there is no untoward incident during the examination time.

Given 50 percent relaxation in the syllabus by the government, the students found the exams relatively easy. They were informed about the pattern of the question paper before hand and found it simple to answer the questions which were mostly theoretical.

Although there is debate on the government’s move of giving a choice to the students that they either sit for examination now with relaxed syllabus or in March when no relaxation will be provided. But, it is certainly a good news seeing thousands of students across the valley peacefully taking their examinations.
